Tiranë, 9 April 2026 – The 6th edition of the National Forum “Boys and Men Who Inspire” brought together institutions, civil society, young people, and international partners to advance a shared message: ending violence against women and girls requires the active engagement of men and boys.

Organized by UNFPA Albania in close partnership with the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, with the support of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) through the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) and implemented by the Youth Voice Network of Organisations, the Forum continues to serve as a national platform for dialogue, reflection, and action on gender equality.

This year’s Forum took place in a context where public discussions on gender equality are increasingly challenged by misinformation and polarization. Participants emphasized the importance of creating safe spaces for informed dialogue, promoting positive masculinity, and strengthening collective responsibility.

“Gender equality is not only a women’s issue—it is a shared responsibility. Men and boys must be part of the solution, as partners, allies, and agents of change in families, communities, and society,” said Denada Seferi, Deputy Minister of Health and Social Welfare. She highlighted that Albania has made important progress through strengthened legal frameworks, but emphasized that real impact depends on awareness, engagement, and behavioral change at all levels.

The Forum concluded with the “Boys and Men Who Inspire 2025” awards, recognizing individuals who are leading by example and demonstrating that change is possible.

This initiative is part of the project “Reducing Gender-Based Violence and Harmful Practices through Gender-Responsive Governance,” funded by the Government of Italy and implemented by UNFPA Albania in partnership with the Government of Albania.
