25 January, 2022, Tirana - Cervical Cancer Awareness week. UNFPA in cooperation with the Institute of Public Health and the Ministry of Health and Social Protection and in partnership with the World Health Organization in Albania closed the European Cervical Cancer Awareness activities in a workshop of gynecologists and experts of Primary Health Care Service and university hospitals, who discussed the progress and challenges faced for the implementation of the Cervical Cancer Screening Program.
Participants shared the results of the work done during all these years, discussed the strengthening of inter-institutional cooperation for continuous quality improvement and the promotion of program services use among population groups, even in the conditions of the Covid19 pandemic.
Experts and advocates came up with strong messages of the importance of information sharing, regular check-ups and the need to speak and raise awareness throughout the year.
