Euronews Albania has joined a UNFPA project focusing on expanding choices and opportunities for families and gender-responsive policies in the private sector.

The cooperation agreement was signed in a ceremony at the Euronews Albania’s premises in the presence of the Austrian Ambassador to Albania, UNFPA Country Office representatives and Euronews managers and staff.

Euronews Albania’s administrator Karolina Rista emphasized the importance of this project for the media group staff, as well as for the education and awareness of Albanian citizens at large. 

The Ambassador of Austria to Albania, H. E. Christian Steiner highlighted: "The today's agreement with Euronews is a twofold good news for all Euronews employees to have a family-friendly workplace, and for all of us as a well-known media company can positively influence others with its experience. Media's role is key to promote & raise awareness about family-friendly policies & the importance of recognizing the potential of women's empowerment."

While Elsona Agolli, on behalf of UNFPA Albania emphasized the importance of this partnership by stating that "Investing in gender equality is not just the right thing to do, it is the smart thing to do."

This cooperation is part of the regional project managed by the UNFPA Eastern Europe & Central Asia "Expanding Choices: Gender-Responsive Family Policies for the Private Sector in the Western Balkans and Moldova”, supported by the Austrian Development Agency with funds from the Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC).
